You can now use your First Alliance MasterCard credit and debit cards with Apple Pay, the easy, secure, and private way to pay.

Use Apple Pay to pay in stores without swiping your First Alliance cards and in-apps without entering payment and contact information. Just pay with a single touch of your finger using Touch ID™.

With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number alongside a transaction-specific dynamic security code is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.

In addition, paying with Apple Pay is private as the cashier never sees your name, card numbers or security code.

What is Apple Pay and how does it work?
Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple Inc. that allows users to make payments in-store and in-app purchases using their Apple Pay compatible devices.

To use Apple Pay for purchases in-store, you must first add your First Alliance debit or credit card on to your eligible Apple Pay devices. Once your card has been added, you can hold your device to any contactless reader terminal to make a payment! Place your finger on the “Touch ID™” and hold your device near the reader until you see “Done” and a checkmark on your screen which indicates that your payment is complete. If “Touch ID” doesn’t work, or you do not have it enabled, you will need to enter your device passcode.

To use Apple Pay for purchases within participating merchant apps (or in-app), you must first add your First Alliance cards on to your eligible device in “Settings” on your device. Once your card has been added, look for the “Apple Pay” button at checkout. Simply tap the “Apple Pay” button and review your payment information and contact details to complete your purchase. You will see “Done” and a checkmark on the screen when your payment is complete.

Which devices are eligible for Apple Pay?
In order to use Apple Pay, you need to have iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, Apple Watch 5 or 6, and the device must be running on iOS 8.1 or later for contactless and in-app payments. You can use iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 for in-app payments only.

Where can I use Apple Pay?
You can use Apple Pay to make payments in stores with your eligible devices wherever contactless payments are accepted. Just look for the contactless and/or Apple Pay symbol at checkout.payment

You can also use Apple Pay in participating merchant apps with your eligible devices. Look for the “Buy with Apple Pay” or “Apple Pay” button at checkout within the apps.

How can I add my First Alliance card to Apple Pay?
To add your First Alliance card on your eligible device go into “Settings,” open “Passbook” or “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add Credit or Debit Card.” Enter the required card information and make sure to set your First Alliance Card as your default card!

What is a Device Account Number and how is it different from my card number?
For your security, when you add your eligible card to Apple Pay, a Device Account Number – separate and unique to your device – is created. Your Device Account Number, instead of your real card number, is used to make purchases using Apple Pay. Merchants do not store your card number.

How are refunds handled with an Apple Pay purchase?
If you need to make a return for a purchase made with Apple Pay, you may be asked to provide to the cashier the last four digits of your Device Account Number instead of the last few digits of your card number. To find the last four digits of your Device Account Number for each card, visit the “Passbook & Apple Pay” section in your device “Settings” or look on the back of your card in the Passbook app.

How many cards can I put on my device?
At this time, Apple allows up to eight cards on a device.

Can I put my credit or debit card on multiple devices?
Yes, you can add your card(s) on up to 10 devices.

Can I remove my card from my device?
You can remove your card by selecting “Remove Card” in the “Passbook & Apple Pay” section in your device “Settings” or on the back of your card in the Passbook app by tapping on the  symbol.

How can I delete my card if my device is lost or stolen?
If you believe your device or Apple Pay card information has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way, call us immediately at 507-288-0330.
